SDAG Field Trip 2002

Geology and Mineral Resources of Northern Baja California, Mexico

The 2002 San Diego Association of Geologists (SDAG) annual field trip and associated volume theme, was Geology and Mineral Resources of Northern Baja California. Mexico.  The trip looked at the La Posta-type intrusives in the Sierra Juarez; made a visit to the abandoned scheelite mine, El Fenomeno; we also looked at coastal faulting and geology, and associated marine terraces; finally, a brief stop was made in the Rancho San Marcos area, where we considered a regional dike swarm and an Ordovician olistolith.  The Field Trip chair and editor of the guidebook is Patrick Brooks, Vice President of SDAG.
