Geology and Mineral Resources of Northern Baja California, MexicoThe 2002 San Diego Association of Geologists (SDAG) annual field trip and associated volume theme, was Geology and Mineral Resources of Northern Baja California. Mexico. The trip looked at the La Posta-type intrusives in the Sierra Juarez; made a visit to the abandoned scheelite mine, El Fenomeno; we also looked at coastal faulting and geology, and associated marine terraces; finally, a brief stop was made in the Rancho San Marcos area, where we considered a regional dike swarm and an Ordovician olistolith. The Field Trip chair and editor of the guidebook is Patrick Brooks, Vice President of SDAG.
September 21 - 22, 2002. Saturday morning --- The starting location was the Rancho San Diego shopping center parking lot at the corner of Jamacha Road and Highway 94.
Saturday night --- camp and catered dinner. Beverages were provided by SDAG. Sunday --- simple continental breakfast and campground departure, followed by:
